Amy, you are truly a “big hearted” person. You have a way of making people in your life feel special, and after reading this essay I’m reminded of how you do that. You genuinely do feel everyone is important. I feel lucky to call you a friend. ❤️
Amy, closing the camp years ago was always such a sad and poignant time. We knew things would be different the next year, just did not think of possible losses until ‘58. Even after that year, opening the camp was still full of new possibilities. It’s so great that you can extend camp season so much.
As for the future, at our ages we expect more losses of family, friends, independence. Best to think of each day as the beginning of the rest of your life. Come what may, greet each morning with as much gratitude and joy as you can muster. Every new day is grace.
Wonderful essay, Amy. Reminds me to grab each day and feel gratitude, whenever and wherever. These times are troubling, but there is so much to embrace. Thanks.
I always look forward to reading both you and Tony’s reflections. Sometimes I laugh out load and sometimes silent tears run down my cheeks, but I’m always grateful for your sharing. ♥️
It was very touching to hear you read in class, and, if possible, even more moving to read along with the pictures.
Thank you, my friend...love you!

Thanks so much, Cheryl! I miss you!
Bittersweet, indeed, Amy. There is always some loss as the year turns; memories make it bearable.
So true!

By next summer, we’ll live in a different state, in an “easier home”. A gut-wrenching step toward the inevitable. That’s what scares me.
It's all so, so gut-wrenching, isn't it? Love you, bro.
